Kinsect is a deep-tech company that develops industrial technologies for breeding Black Soldier Flies (BSF). Our goal is to provide insect farms with a stable and programmable production input, eliminating the complexity of the breeding phase.
We offer two services:
• Biological Supply (Breeding-as-a-Service): We supply newborn larvae ready for fattening.
• Technological Supply: We develop and install proprietary hardware and software for reproduction and breeding directly at the customer's premises.
Our operational headquarters and research centre (demo plant) are located in Rovereto (TN), Italy, within the Mechatronics Cluster, a hub of excellence for industrial innovation and mechatronics.
This is the solution for insect farms that want to focus solely on fattening. Kinsect manages the delicate reproduction and hatching phase, delivering newborn larvae (0DOL) on a turnkey basis, eliminating biological risks and investments in breeding hardware for the customer.
It is our patented technology that allows us to ‘pause’ the development of the larvae. Thanks to special packaging with an engineered membrane, the larvae remain viable for 14 days. This allows farms to schedule production cycles with industrial precision, receiving the larvae via express courier.
We guarantee survival rates of over 90% even after long journeys across Europe, transforming perishable biological output into reliable industrial input.
We offer modular technology platforms that include our breeding cages, LED systems with optimised spectrum for mating, and automation systems for total control of environmental parameters.
Our solutions enable a stocking density three times higher than the industry average. Furthermore, the industrialisation of components has enabled us to reduce construction costs by 50% and operating costs (OpEx) by 40%.
Yes, our plants incorporate proprietary automation and monitoring systems that ensure the continuity of biological cycles and minimise manual human intervention.
Our BSF larvae and technologies are optimised for the bioconversion of agricultural by-products and agri-food processing waste, making use of plant resources that would otherwise go to waste.
We enable farms to transform agricultural by-products into high-quality proteins. The residue from this process, known as frass, is an excellent natural fertiliser that can be reused on the fields, closing the biological cycle.
